I really liked this course. I got to read a bunch of interesting and challenging texts that I never have been exposed to before. As much as I struggled with Omeros I ended up really liking this poem. Patterson on the other hand, is something I could have lived without. I will never pick up that book again. I like Christopher Unborn better than Patterson. Of all the texts I would keep them all except Patterson. I wish we had more time to go over Christopher Unborn in class and touch upon a lot of the historical events in the text. If you eliminated Patterson then you would have more time for Christopher Unborn.
I am normally not a fan of blogging. But i found the blog very useful for this class. I was able to build upon some blogs for my responses and use my responses to write my final project. I didn’t realize it when I was writing the responses, but when it came time to put together my final project, alot of the work was already done for me. It is daungting to think you have to write at 12-15 page paper, but when you have so much work already done, it isn’t as hard as expected.
I really enjoyed this class and think it made a great Senior Seminar!
Jessica, it was a pleasure having you in class. I wish you the best of luck in the teaching world. If you come back to school again, I hope it will be for a Masters and not another Bachelors. Good luck, and I wish you many novels–good and bad–in the future. Cheers.
